Ella's New Obsession!

I noticed last week as I was doing laundry that Ella's basket did not have as many clothes as usual. Then I realized why... she only wears two things! Her sleeping Beauty dress or her Snow White dress. She also has to have the crown on and matching shoes. If for some reason we have to wear "real clothes", say to see the dentist or something, then she will only wear a dress or skirt. No pants, no shorts, no jeans.

Another quick story, on monday we had FHE and we decided to have a song, I thought "I Am A Child of God" was appropriate, but Ella thought that "Twinkle Twinkle" was a better choice. I told her that we were going to sing "I Am A Child of God" and she could participate if she wanted to or just sit there. She then told me, "no I am going to sing Twinkle Twinkle". So Mike and I start singing and I hear Ella start to sing a long. I think great I got through to her and she is going along with us, then all of the sudden I hear "up above the world so high". Mike and I started laughing so hard that we were both actually crying. Anyway this girl has a mind of her own and she is very clear when it comes to what she wants! A part of me loves this about her and a part of me wants to wring her neck!

Ella's Second Birthday

Okay so these pictures are really old, but these were recently emailed to me from a friend, so I was so happy to see them (my camera erased my pictures). Anyway Ella's Birthday was so fun and happy that I just had to post them!

One Of My Favorite Things!

One of my favorite things is to walk around the house and see Ella's toys! They are always lovingly tucked in and "sleeping". Ella will often tell me to whisper because her baby/bear/bunny/horse is taking a nap. Sometimes I am lucky enough to see her rocking them and singing a lullaby. It is so neat to see her be a little mommy and quickly learning how to nurture. I also just get a kick out of it and I thought it might make you laugh too!

Ella Had A Growth Spurt

Ella has had a recent growth spurt lately, and unfortunately she has inherited my feet. As you can see she has jumped up from a size child's 7.5 to a women's 9.5. I was really hoping big feet would jump a generation! :)

The real story is that Ella has this new obsession with trying to tie a bow, and she says this little story that goes a long with it. "The bunny goes around the tree, then you make a loop, and through the hole". I don't think she even knows what that means, but it is fun to watch!

We Did It!

I just received this email and I thought I would share it with everyone. For anyone who wrote their Senator about passing             Bill 1738, Thank You, Thank you! IT PASSED!

Dear Mrs. Ericksen,

Thank you for contacting me about S.1738, the Combating Child Exploitation Act. I appreciated hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

I joined a unanimous Senate in voting to pass this package on September 25. Two days later, it passed the U.S. House of Representatives, and it is now awaiting presidential approval. This legislation is expected to become law very soon.

You may be interested to know that the support you and others expressed for S.1738 was a factor in overcoming the partisan gridlock that had threatened to stop its progress through the legislative process. I hope you will continue to share your views on pending issues and bills with the Idaho Congressional Delegation in the future
