California Trip 2012: Sleeping Kids and American Girl

The first couple of days we were in California we just took it easy and let the kids play around. They were pretty tired from traveling and they loved just playing with cousins.

One day my mom decided she wanted to take Ella to American Girl and pick out a new doll for her birthday. Ella and my mom share the same love for dolls, so this was the perfect outing for them.

American Girl is an amazing three story building filled with all things related to dolls. Ella picked out a doll that looked like her and then picked out an outfit for her as well. Her doll also got to get her hair done, and her ears pierced. We also got to eat at the cute cafe there, where dolls get to sit at the table and participate in the lunch.

I don't know who was having more fun, Ella or my mom!

Funniest Thing I have heard All Day

Hunter: "When I grow up, I am going to be a dad".

Me: " Who are you going to marry"?

Hunter: " YOU"

Me: "I am already married".

Hunter: "Whaaaaat?! Who?! I thought I was going to marry you!"

Ella: Mom can we play "spank our bottom" game.

Me: Not now, but maybe after you get all of your chores done and we have extra time, then we can.

Ella: I know why you always say we can do stuff after our chores.

Me: Why?

Ella: So you can trick us into doing our chores.

I like to think of it as healthy motivation...

Happiest Place on Earth

We just returned from a week long trip in Newport beach with my whole family. It was a great vacation and I made sure to make it a real vacation this year by leaving my computer home. It was so nice to have nothing to do or think about except having fun with the kids. We had such a wonderful time and I was not ready to come home.
